Obituary of Nelson J. Kenyon

Nelson Jay Kenyon, loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather, age 86, of South Onondaga, New York, died Tuesday, January 28, 2003 at Van Duyn Home & Hospital, Onondaga Hill, New York. Nelson was born in Syracuse, New York, the son of Jay and Cecil (Quick) Kenyon. He was a graduate of Onondaga Central High School. He owned and operated Plato Business Equipment, Syracuse, New York. He was a long time member of South Onondaga United Methodist Church and a Boy Scout leader for many years. He was a navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Kenyon is survived by his wife of 61 years, Arlene A. (Bowen) Kenyon; one daughter: Kristine L. Cox of Navarino, New York; two sons: David N. Kenyon of Dewitt, New York and Steven G. Kenyon of South Onondaga, New York; one brother: Herb Kenyon of LaFayette, New York; ten grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Jack Kenyon. Funeral: Saturday, February 1, 2003, 12:00 noon in the chapel at Van Duyn Home & Hospital with Rev. Richard C. Brown officiating.
