Obituary of Dawn P. Powell

Dawn P. Powell, age 76, of 157 W. Florence Avenue, Syracuse, New York died Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at Community General Hospital, Onondaga Hill, New York. Dawn was born October 26, 1926 in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of Gerald and Louise (Carskaden) Bowles. She was the wife of the late Gerald "Jerry" Powell who died in 1996. She retired 1976 after 26 years as a waitress and bartender at Pensabene?s Park West Restaurant and the Tallman Cafe. Her son, Dennis Powell also died in 1996. Mrs. Powell is survived by one daughter, Deborah L. Powell-Root of LaFayette, New York; one son, Allen R. Powell of Syracuse, New York; four sisters, Gloria Kicak, Doris Hennessy, Nancy McConnell and Georgianna Pullin all of Syracuse, New York; three brothers, Ronald Bowles, Richard Bowles and Gary Bowles all of Syracuse, New York; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. Funeral: Friday, December 6, 2002, 11:30 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Harold Garman officiating. Burial: Onondaga Valley Cemetery, 2500 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York.
