Obituary of Raymond E. Deuel

Raymond E. Deuel, Jr., age 84, of Syracuse, New York died Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at Loretto, Syracuse. Mr. Deuel was born October 26, 1917 in Cortland, New York, the son of Raymond and Ruth (McQuen) Deuel. Formerly of Valley Vista Apts., Syracuse, he lived in Port Richey, Florida and Rochester, New York before moving back to Syracuse in 1993. He was a 1938 graduate of Onondaga Valley Academy. He retired in 1978 after more than 40 years in the grocery business. He worked at Loblaws, Terrell and Cavanaugh before founding Deuel Distributing Co. His first wife, the former Eleanor Cluff died in 1965. His second wife, the former Roberta Mooney died in 1993. He is survived by two daughters: Brenda Scott from Syracuse, New York and Nancy Lesh from Saratoga, New York; one step daughter, Sharon Bonilla from California; 2 step sons: Gary Leonard from Syracuse, New York and Greg Leonard from Fairport, New York; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral: Friday, March 15, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., Syracuse with Rev. Thomas Schafer officiating. Burial: Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse.
