Obituary of Pauline T. Lynch

Pauline T. Lynch, 86, of Fairmount, NY, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016 in the Van Duyn Nursing Home. After arriving in Syracuse, NY from Fort Covington, NY at the age of 17, Pauline attended cosmetology school and then worked as a hairdresser before landing a job at General Electric. It was here that she met and then married Bill Lynch, her husband of 64 years. Along with helping to raise 3 children (Odette, Martin and Christopher), Pauline was also a Foster Parent for several years. She was always an avid card player and loved to see her family gathered around the card table. Pauline's passion was Duplicate Bridge where she excelled as a Master Player. Of course, playing poker with friends was also part of her routine. Pauline loved her animals, shopping, music, entertaining, cooking and walking on the beach. Pauline and Bill owned a cottage at Sandy Pond for 25 years. She loved dining out and going to the movie theater with her husband, friends or grandchildren. Pauline was your biggest supporter and closest friend during tough times. She seemed to have a sixth sense and could always tell if something was wrong. Pauline's appearance was important to her. She wanted to be seen with her hair styled and nails polished. During the four years she resided at the Van Duyn Home, she had her hair and nails done every week. Her loving husband visited her faithfully on a daily basis and regularly brought her dog, Haily. Pauline will be forever missed, but fondly remembered by family and friends. Surviving are her husband, William; daughter, Odette (Thomas) Fetzner; sons, Martin (Kathleen) and Christopher (Joanne) Lynch; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse, NY.
