Obituary of Donald John Crabtree

Donald "Donnie" John Crabtree, Jr., 53, of Nedrow, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, November 24, 2017. Born in Syracuse, he was a son of the late Donald Sr. and Blossom (Allen) Crabtree. Donnie was a graduate of Onondaga Central School and attended Bryant and Stratton College. Donnie was always friendly and very well respected in his neighborhood. He was a true animal lover, especially to his cats and dogs. His other passion was sports, and Donnie had been a season ticket holder at the Carrier Dome since it opened. In addition to Syracuse University football and basketball, he religiously followed the Oakland Raiders, Nebraska Cornhuskers, North Carolina Tarheels and New York Yankees. In his free time, Donnie also enjoyed fishing with his friends. Donnie is survived by his brother, Robert A. Crabtree of North Syracuse; longtime girlfriend, Jessica Alling of Nedrow; and several cousins and close friends. Calling hours will be Monday, November 27, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, NY 13205. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at the funeral home with Rev. Richard Yost officiating. Burial will follow in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse.
