Obituary of Simone M. Vazquez

Simone M. Vazquez, 89, of Syracuse, NY, died peacefully on October 22, 2017. Born in Quebec, Canada, on March 17, 1928, she was one of 21 children. She came to Syracuse working in local restaurants and provided childcare to several children, touching many hearts with her kindness. Simone was predeceased by her husband, Arturo, in 2003. Surviving are her children, Arturo J. Vazquez and wife, Tina, of Phoenix, Fernando Vazquez and Hugo Vazquez, both of Syracuse; two brothers; three sisters; a granddaughter, Santana Whitney of Jamesville; and many nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and friends. Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 25, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, NY 13205. Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, October 27, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse.
