Les was a wonderful, kind, always smiling, amazing person. I was so sad to learn of his passing and am grateful that he worked as a Driver Education instructor at Manlius Pebble Hill School. He was a wonderful teacher and is surely missed by many. I feel honored to have known him. Thank you, Joan, for letting me know. My heartfelt sympathy to you and your family.

Les was a bright light in this world, so full of love and compassion, such a kind and caring soul. Everyone enjoyed being with him, especially those who played music with him. His standard set list always included songs that blessed the Lord. He sang out loud and there was no mistaking who was singing. He will be missed by all. So nice to see the tributes pouring in as he deserves every one. So what's up for Les today? Get his robe and crown fitted, tune the banjo and sing praises to the Lord, while harmonizing with the heavenly choir. He sure could sing great harmony here below, good preparation for that grand stage upstairs!
Peace to all his family and friends, Mark & Sheila Sostrin

Les was an inspiration to many! I enjoyed teaching with him at Faith Heritage and playing music with him at various venues like Kellish Farm. What a godly man!

Les played opposite me in high-school vocal productions. Always a "stand up guy" with loads of talent.

I was privileged to teach with Les for 13 years. He was always cheerful, and faithfully supportive to his wife, Trudy. He was a shiny light for the Lord and definitely enjoyed his music. Along with being able to teach with Les, I was privileged to have his son, Mike in my 5th grade class. John was so grateful for all of the time he gave to help with the audio-visual aspects, and enjoyed his many faculty room chats together. Our hearts are sad for all who are deeply saddened by his passing. May the Lord bless and strengthen you. John and Elaine Hitchcock

Les will be greatly missed. He was my first teacher at FHS when I came to the school in 6th grade. I still remember his spelling tests and the fun/corny stories he would make up on the fly. I am thankful for the impact he had on my life. As the years have passed I have learned to greatly respect and understand what an amazing father, husband, and man he was. My condolences and prayers go out to Mike and all of Les’s family.

My Faith Heritage days were even more meaningful because I watched Les stay faithful to Trudy and shine the light of the Lords there.

Loved Les. Always smiling. Took his turns playing his banjo. Couldn't mistake who was playing. Had many a light hearted conversation together. Would look at you nodding his head smiling making a visual memory for easy recollection. I can see him as I write. Absent from the body and present with our Lord Jesus. Eternally.

Les was the brother I never had. We first met while doing a Church Community Easter Cantata in the early
1970's, then taught at Faith Heritage together, but our most fun days were cooking at Wildwood Christian
Camp. Our last memory is a group hymn sing at a house party this past July. Lots of good memories of a
wonderful godly man and family friend. Our prayers continue for Joan, Mike, Nathan and Owen.
