



Obituary of Jay Rubadeaux
Jay B. Rubadeaux (AKA John B. Rubado) passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was 68 years old. Jay lived a full life as a horseman, farrier, Liverpool High School English teacher, yoga instructor, bar tender, and friend. He had four degrees of education and loved to learn. He will be remembered for his immense generosity. His two children, Danielle (Joe) McMillan and Dylan (Melissa) Rubadeaux were precious to him, as well as his grandchildren, Jeremy, Riley and Jack. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mary Rubado, whom he believed were the finest human beings on the planet. He cherished his siblings, Charles (Nitaya) Rubado, Bob (Mary) Rubadeau, Bill (Sally) Rubadeau, and Jean (Michael) Rizzi, many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He is mourned by his loving partner, Deb Joy. He was truly blessed his whole life through.
Calling hours will be Friday, October 27th from 5-7pm at Ballweg and Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, NY 13205.
A memorial service will be held at the Ballweg and Lunsford Funeral Home on Saturday, October 28th at 9:30am followed by an interment at Onondaga Valley Cemetery, 2200 Valley Dr, Nedrow NY. Family and friends are invited to a celebration luncheon at Valley American Legion Post, 110 Academy St, Syracuse, NY at 11:30am.
