Obituary of Harry E Brogan

Harry E. Brogan, 92, passed away Tuesday at home.  Harry was born in Scranton, PA on April 18, 1926 the son of the late Francis and Marie Naughton Brogan.  He served in the US Navy during WWII. Harry retired from the US Postal Service after  27 years.  He was a avid golfer and a fan of SU Basketball and the Yankees.  Harry was a longtime member of American Legion Valley Post 1468.  He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean Merrick Brogan in 2004.   Harry was a beloved husband, father and grandfather which was a role that he truly loved. Harry was compassionate, kind and selfless.  He was the center of our world and we were the center of his. 

Survived by his children: Alice Brogan, Joseph (Patricia) Brogan, Paul (Jennifer) Brogan, Mary (Keith) Brogan, Kathleen (Mick) Brogan, Jean Brogan-Cullen, and Patrick (Lisa) Brogan; brother: John Brogan; sisters: Anne Marie Roland and Romayne Melnick; grandsons: Benjamin, Alexander, Ryan, Ethan and Liam Brogan. 

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 19, at 10:30 am at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse and 11 am in Our Lady of Hope, 4845 S. Salina Street.  Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 18 from 4 -  7pm at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Onondaga Valley Cemetery.  In Lieu of flowers contributions can be made to: Hospice and Disabled American Veterans.

Special thanks from his children to all of the care givers through Home Aides of CNY especially: Paula, Vicky, Shanny, Vera, Jose and Troy for their exceptional care.
