Obituary of Barbara S. Jillson

Barbara Smith Jillson, 84, formerly of 345 LaFayette Road, Syracuse, New York, died Thursday, August 3, 2006 at Community General Hospital in Syracuse. Barbara was born January 6, 1922 in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of DeForest L. and Marion D. (Smith) Smith. She graduated from Central Tech High School and worked as a private secretary at Air-Cooled Motors.? In 1954, Barbara became a member of Onondaga Valley Presbyterian Church.? Her generous service to the congregation included Eldership, Christian Education?Superintendent, and for 37 years, Financial Secretary-Treasurer.? She appreciated antiques and collectibles, and enjoyed her life as a homemaker.? She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Jillson in 1994 and a sister, Elizabeth Parsons. Barbara is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jay R. (Diane) Jillson of Syracuse, New York; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn J. (Alan) Lewandowski of Tully, New York; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Scott and Lauren Jillson, Jess and Kyle Lewandowski. Memorial Service: Saturday, August 12, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at Onondaga Valley Presbyterian Church, 275 W. Seneca Tnpk., Syracuse, New York with Rev. Beth Dubois officiating.
