Obituary of Charles F. Ludwig

Charles F. Ludwig Sr., 75, of Syracuse, New York, died Thursday, February 16, 2006 at Iroquois Nursing Home in Jamesville, New York. Charles was born September 11, 1930 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Howard and Rose (Dallas) Ludwig. He was a Winter 1949 graduate of Central Tech High School and a 1985 graduate of Onondaga Community College with a degree in Business. He was a Navy veteran of Korea serving on the USS Leary. He retired as a construction foreman from New York Telephone Co. He was a commuinicant and active volunteer at Our Lady of Lourdes, a member of VFW Valley Legion Post 1468 and the Anglers Association of Onondaga, active in the Boy Scouts of America Troop 128 and a coach for Valley Little League. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Cushing Ludwig, February 17, 1998. Charles is survived by his six children, Margaret "Peggy" Hamlin of Syracuse, New York, Mary (J.P.) Ludwig-Crangle of Syracuse, New York, Charles F. Jr. (Susan) Ludwig of Syracuse, New York, Heidi A. (Donald) Johnson of Syracuse, New York, Peter A. (Janet) Ludwig of Illinois and Thomas H. (Verna) Ludwig of Nedrow, New York; two brothers, Howard Ludwig of Phoenix, Arizona and Bradford (Anne) Ludwig of Mexico, New York; 10 grandchildren, Charles Sauer of Denver, Colorado, Justin Marks of Illinois, Marcus Ludwig of Syracuse, New York, Alexander Moatz of Tiberg, New York, Charles Patros of Syracuse, New York, Crystal Johnson of Syracuse, New York, Lillian Crangle of Syracuse, New York, Cortney Ludwig of Illinois, Fletcher Crangle of Syracuse, New York and Michael Ludwig of Syracuse, New York; two great-grandchildren, Autumn Sauer of Denver, Colorado and Shayla Lomas of Syracuse, New York; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services: Monday, February 20, 2006, 8:45 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc. and 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes, 300 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
