Al will be remembered at our Memorial Service, May 11, 2006 at 5:30PM. The Activities Department at VTH has tried to share Al's unique wisdom and talent with our residents just like he did when we worked with him. He is now with our residents who we still miss and think of daily. Especially Burt. Thank-you for showing us the true meaning of life.Activities

How I will miss my wonderful friend Al. He was such a kind, loving man with a great sense of humor. Al gave of himself to everyone and expected nothing in return. He truly led the life of a Fransiscan. My thoughts and prayers go out to Michele, Mary, John and Jim.Until we meet again, my friend, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Dad, We love you and miss you so much! As Pam said, Joanna was not an in-law, she was your daughter! You treated everyone you knew like family. People like you are hard to find in this world. That is why you will be so dearly missed! From Jim: Though tears may not trickle down my face, I cry in my own way. I know you see the loss in me, I think of you every day! You are in Heaven now, Gram and Grampa by your side. I have of you great memories, In those I will confide!Dad, I love you so much!

I remember Al as a gentle soft spoken man that God's light shined through. His compassion and patience with others at times seemed boundless. Al was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a realistic and positive attitude that was contagious. My heart goes out to Michelle and their family and my prayers are with you.

Daddy,We all miss you so much already! You always said that I was your daughter (not -in-law) and I always considered you my daddy (no -in-law). You touched my life and the lives of my family in so many ways and you will continue to affect us by the example you gave all of us of a wonderful Christian man! It comforts me to know that you are above looking out for us and always lifting us to God (only now you can ask God face to face!).I love you and Jacqui & Andy send their love!

I know that Al will always be with me. His spirit and loving personality made everyday a joy to work side by side with him at Castle. We are all very sad at his passing. We will be remembering him at our Memorial Service. Even residents who are still with us and knew him are keeping the entire family in our thoughts and prayers. He was a wonderful person and so much a part of the Castle family.

I worked with Al Hilts at Castle Rest Nursing Home for 4 yrs. in the 1980's. I remember him best as a hard-working, skilled, warm and caring caregiver to our patients, and also for his consistent smiling and friendly manner towards everyone around him. My deepest sympathy to Michelle and the rest of his family. I will remember him and his family in my prayers.
