Obituary of Albert W. Hilts

Albert W. Hilts S.F.O., age 59, of Syracuse, New York, died Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse. Albert was born November 25, 1946, in Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville, New York, the only child of John Andrew and Martha Helen (Effley) Hilts. His Father died in 1947 from sudden heart failure. His mother remarried in 1956 to Burton M. Ward. He died of health problems in 1978 and she died of health problems on May 19, 2004. Albert graduated from Lowville Academy Central School in 1965 and moved to Syracuse. He was a long time employee of Castle Rest Nursing Home. Albert married Michele M. Wandrum on December 1, 1978 in Saint James Catholic Church in Syracuse. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and a member of the Secular Franciscan Order St. Elizabeth, St. Bonaventure Chapter of Assumption Church in Syracuse. Albert is survived by his wife, Michele; his children from previous marriages, Mary Helen Hilts Jones of Groton, New York, John Andrew Hilts of Rochester, New York and James Allan Hilts of Liverpool, New York; several grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. Memorial Service: Saturday, February 18, 2006, 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1515 Midland Avenue, Syracuse, New York 13205. A memorial service will be held at a later date in St. Peters Catholic Church, Lowville, New York. Burial will be in the Old Glendale Cemetery, Lowville, New York.
