Obituary of Phyllis Ann Moran

Phyllis Ann Moore Moran, 77, of The Valley in Syracuse, New York, died Saturday, January 28, 2006 at home. Phyllis was born January 5, 1929 in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of John Alexander and Pauline Johanna (Hosp) Moore. She was a life resident of Syracuse, a 1946 graduate of Assumption Catholic Academy and The Syracuse Comptomer School. She retired from The Syracuse City School District's Dr. King Elementary School in 1985 as a food service worker. She was a communicant of St. James Church, a member of their Altar & Rosary Society, their Legion of Mary and their funeral guild. She enjoyed knitting, riding her bike and corresponding regularly with friends and family. She was predeceased by a grandson Barry P. Moran who died in 1996. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Thomas L. Moran; four sons, Michael T. Moran of Baldwinsville, New York, Patrick R. Moran of Las Vegas, Nevada, Joseph E. (Kathleen) Moran of Syracuse, New York and Daniel J. Moran of Apache Junction, Arizona; one daughter; Maureen M. Rice of Minden City, Michigan; one sister; Emily O'Brien of North Syracuse, New York; nine grandchildren, Bryan J. Moran, Megan M. Moran, Daniel G. Moran, U.S. Air Force Airman First Class stationed in Misawa, Japan, Dannell A. Moran and Andrew J. Moran, Matthew J. Rice, Christopher N. Rice, Timothy P. Rice and Noah Major; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services: Tuesday, January 31, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc. and 11:00 a.m. in St. James Church, 4845 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York. Burial: Onondaga Valley Cemetery, 2500 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York. Calling Hours: Monday, January 30, 2006, 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York.
