Obituary of David J. Nelson

David J. Nelson Jr., 58, of Syracuse, New York, died Thursday, January 19, 2006. David was born February 2, 1947 in Washington, DC, the son of David J. Sr. and Byerle (Craig) Nelson. He spent most of his youth in England and graduated from one of the best prep schools in England with honors. He later enlisted in the Air Force and spent time stationed in Tacoma, Washington and Lakenheath Air Force Base in England. When he left the Air Force, he worked as a licensed optician, but was forced to retire because of health issues. He is survived by a brother, Spencer Nelson; three sons, Mark (Tina) Nelson, Ian (Katie) Nelson and Nicholas Nelson; one daughter, Sarah (Brian) McManus and the light of his eye, a grandson, Dylan. The family will honor David's wish to be cremated and his ashes will be spread between Central New York and England, his two favorite places. Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc. 4612 S.
