Obituary of Alice G. Finnegan

Alice G. "Ma" Finnegan, 76, formerly of Ruhamah Avenue, Syracuse, New York, died Sunday, November 13, 2005 at the home of her daughter, Anne. Alice was born, April 2, 1929 in Quincy, Massachusetts, the daughter of James and Rachel (McWalter) Oag. She formerly worked as a cashier at K-Mart in Western Lights, Syracuse, New York. She was a communicant of St. James Church and a life member of Nedrow Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband, James E. Finnegan Jr., February 22, 1974 and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Finnegan, November 2004. Alice is survived by her 10 children, Mary Finnegan of Cambridge, Massachusetts, James E. Finnegan III of Virginia, Anne (Mike Spillane) Cummings of Syracuse, New York, Janice (Bob Gannon) McClure of Fairmount, New York, Paul J. Finnegan of Cambridge, Massachusetts, David M. (Alamar) Finnegan of Ft. Myers, Florida, Alice A. Finnegan of Syracuse, New York, Robert W. Finnegan of Onondaga Hill, New York, Jeanne (Wayne) Royston of Nedrow, New York and Katie (Tom Blair) Salisbury of Sennett, New York; brother, James Oag of Quincy, Massachusetts; sister-in-law, Nancy Finnegan Looney of Cambridge, Massachusetts; 19 grandchildren, James E. Finnegan IV, Kristopher J. (Kym Nyman) Cummings, Sara Spillane, Douglas M. (Shannon) McClure, Tracie L. (Travis DeOrdio) McClure-DeOrdio, Erin E. McClure, Jessica R. (Jay) Matthews, Cody Smiley, Scott D. Finnegan, Timothy Doyle, Gary Klug, Christina M. Salisbury, Eric R. Salisbury, Matthew J. Blair, Zachary M. Blair, Karah G. Blair, Leighann Royston, Phillip J. Royston and Nicholas J. Royston; seven great-grandchildren, Kristopher J. Cummings II, Dakota Nyman, Douglas M. McClure Jr., Lindsey McClure, Mackenzie DeOrdio, Macey DeOrdio and Conner Matthews; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services: Thursday, November 17, 2005, 10:15 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home and 11:00 a.m. in St. James Church, 4845 S. Salina St., Syracuse, New York, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated. Burial: Onondaga Valley Cemetery, 2500 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York.
