Bob was more than an uncle he was a friend. He had a knack for bringing the party with him and making any event a fun one. The man enjoyed life and wanted everyone around him to enjoy it just as much and I will always remember him for that. I know he probably knows everyone in heaven by now and is playing 36 holes a day. I'll miss you Bob but you will always be in my heartJC aka "Knucklehead"

I'll be thinking of him and miss seeing him at all the big S.U. football games. My thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family, Bob is really someone you all can be proud of.

I will forever miss hearing "Hey french fries" but can clearly hear St. Peter's recent welcome at the gates of heaven, "Not too shabby Bob, not too shabby at all!" A life far too short but incredibly well done. Bob could make you smile under any circumstances & I will continue to do so whenever I think of him. My prayers go out to the entire Crangle family, especially Janet, Bobby & Timmy. xoxoSue (Fries) Sullivan

Robert Crangle was one of the best men I ever came across. He and my Dad were buddies from Swallows. I hit a rough patch in my life about 15 years ago and Bobby, being the man he was took a chance on me and gave me job with American Greatings. I was'nt able to drive at the time and he came to my parents house every morning to pick me up. Bobby and I spent alot of time together that summer and he helped me get my life back on track, and for that I am forever grateful. Bobby and Jan were out here in Las Vegas a few months back and although I had'nt seen him in a couple of years, it was like we were still talking every day. Jan my deepest sympathys go out to you and the boys, and remember two things, the Lord works in mysterious ways that we will never understand, and He also does not give us more than we can handle. Robert J. Crangle you will be sorely missed by everyone you ever came in contact with, and especially me. Say hello to my Dad for me.

Dear Janet, Bob and Tim: We apologize that we were not able to attend the visitation hours on Monday and wanted to express our deepest sympathy to you. What a wonderful man Dumbo was and we are sure that the many cherished memories that you all have will provide you with comfort and happiness during this difficult time. He always had a smile whenever we saw him either at a Putnam gathering or when we happen to see him working at one of the local grocery stores. Again, our sympathy, prayers, and condolences go out to all of you during this time and may God bless the entire Crangle Family.

What a terrific personality, always a smile and a ""hello"" from ""Dumbo"", he was truly one of the finest guys to come out of the valley! Although I hadn't seen him in a few years , I always thought about him when reminiscing about Lourdes and Corcoran, what a great guy!

I am very sorry for the loss of Bob. If anyone knew a member of the Crangle Family, it was Bob. If you needed a good laugh, you could definitely get it from Bob. And whose voice could you hear over the rest of the family? That was usually Bob bringing life to the party! I am truly sorry I can not make it home for the services, but I know well wishers will be plentiful to say the least! I'll be thinking of all of you during these difficult times. I will be comforted by the sound of Bob's signature laugh that will be forever in my heart. I hope you are too.Much Love,Carrie, Tyson and Collin

To the Crangle Family and the many, many friends of Bob:I am deeply saddened to learn of Bob's passing. As a former neighbor and friend, I can easily recall the many baseball games at the Glavin's, at the fields at Van Duyn or down at Mr. Kelly's "big field". Of course, when both Bob and Mark Rollinson broke windows in the apartments practicing their home run swings, we didn't have too many more games there any more!!Bob was a standout not only on the field, but more importantly off the field. He was a great personality, a great friend to so many and a great role model for many of the younger ones. The years have passed but it still comes as a great surprise to see one of your old friends go on to be with our Lord. I will miss him and extend my sympathies and prayers to all of the Crangle family.Dan Sullivan

Bob was a great guy, it was a real pleasure working for him. I know I speak for many when I say he will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, We often compared notes about our kids. I have 2 children about the same age as his boys and he always had a story to tell and an ear to listen. I remember Bob through our experiences together with American Greetings. Bob was a very hard working, dedicated sales professional for 27 years who always put his customers and subordinates first. Bob loved people, especially his family and his friends. He loved his job and sports, especially the Cubs and Orangemen. I will also remember him as a very nice and friendly man, who seemed to know everyone in Syracuse. A persons' worth is measured by the number of people you touch during your lifetime. Bob is standing mighty tall with the Lord since I know he has touched so many in his short lifetime. God has blessed me in knowing Bob Crangle.

Bob and I go back to high school days with Otto Putnam, Frank Lawyer and Monk O'Connor. I always loved running into him as he always had a smile for me and some chuckles and he made me feel as time had stood still when we were together. My family has always teased me that I am souly responsible for Hallmarks business being so good, as I send so many greeting cards but few knew that I would rather give my money to American Greeting because I loved Dumbo! Through the years that's where we would meet, in the aisles at Wegmans. I know he loved his boys and his wife Janet very much as I could see it in his eyes as they sparkled and he grinned from ear to ear whenever he spoke of them as we shared the latest on my son and then his family whenever we saw each other. He will be missed by all who knew him but will live on in the smiles of his sons. My heart and prayers are with all the Crangles. xoxoxox
