We were just talking about Dick the other day, using one of his sayings,""did you walk to school today or bring your lunch?"" I learned so much from your father. He brought smiles to everyone. I know he's up there making the angels laugh too.

I was a teacher in the North Syracuse District but had not been working with Dick. I saw a special segment on one of the TV stations about a phys ed teacher working with special education students at Roxboro Elementary School. That was Dick. I marvelled at the activities he had started with the students there. Later when I came to Roxboro Middle, I was able to meet Dick and really find out what a guy he was. Friendly and considerate seem to be weak adjectives to describe him. It was a pleasure to know him and hear about his family, the all important Lafayette Community Band, and his students. He always was interested in what I was doing with the band at Roxboro and dropped into the band room to just say hi. My thoughts go out to his family and he will always be remembered by his colleagues.

Davidson Family, Although I have not seen your family in a long time. I can clearly recall all the memories of days spent at the farm. Most fondly, I remember the amazing spirit your father had and how it's been passed on to each of you. He had such a magnetic energy about him, He will never be forgotten. My condolenses to all of you. "When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight. "

Remembering the days when our children were little and we would visit at the Davidson house. Katie would teach us how to do corn on the cob and freeze vegetables while Dick would take the kids to the barn or out in the yard to ski and sled.Dick always had a twinkle in his eye and a wonderful humor. To this day our adult children still talk about visits to the Davidson house. We will cherish the memories.

All I have is great thoughts of Dickie. He was at Rox. El. when I started teaching 35 years ago. Dick gave me advice many times. He helped shape my style of teaching. Lots of laughs. Always made me feel good. I can hear his laugh now.Basketball after school. I can remember how he'd come out of nowhere to steal the ball from me and score in the wink of an eye.Dick is one of the reasons I settled down and raised a family. He always had wonderful stories to tell us in the teachers room about his family.Dick is in heaven now not only because all teachers go to heaven, but also because of the kind of man he was. Your loss is Gods gain that's for sure.

Kate and family,Saying good-bye to a loved one is surely the hardest thing to do. Having recently lost my Dad on January 27th, I know this is a difficult time. I remember Dick's smiling face at the lacrosse games and how proud he was of Kathleen at her graduation party. He was a kind and gentle man; so caring to our daughter Kristen. May you find peace in the memories of times past and comfort in the love of those who care about you.In friendship and with love...Mary Beth, Dave, Kristen, Mike, Connor and Mary Clare Sweeney.
