I'm so glad to have been a part of Jean's life. We always had such a good visit. That's why they are called memories---they cannot be taken away.

Hi Mom... Well it has been 1 week and 1 day since your funeral.... and oh what a funeral it was.. Jeanie sang ""Amazing Grace"" and it was just beautiful.. and Father O'Hara let us share words that described you.. There were so many words.. Mostly how special you were to so many... We all love you sooooo much. It hurts soooo much sometimes... but we all know that you are in a better place... Just to let you know, Dad seems to be doing ok... Somtimes this all seems so unreal to me, especially when I talk about you in the past tense... Well, as you would have said to me in moment like this, "" you better get going so you can see your husband"". I love and miss you, words can not even express.. Love you Mom... Kathy..

I will always remember what a kind and caring person she was and how she treated me like a daughter, always welcoming me into her house and treating me like family. The Brogan house was always filled with laughter and you knew that she was right in the middle of it all, telling you to sit down and have something to eat. I always thought of her as my second mom, so was that special! I will miss her dearly and wish that I had stopped in as I was growing up just to say hello and see how she and Mr. Brogan were doing. Everyone will miss her, especially those of us who got to see her happy and laughing with her family. She was a wonderful mother and a wonderful person.

Mr. Brogan, Paul and all of the Brogan family:There is no easy way to communicate the sorrow and disappointment I felt upon learning of the passing of your wife and mother. I remember so many Friday or Saturday nights when I entered into the craziness of the Brogan home in search of Paul. While there was a constant buzz in the house, your Mom was always there with a smile, a kind word and an offer to pull up to the table and have a bite to eat. Kids and friends were coming and going and joking and talking and you could always tell that she was so very proud of each and every one of the Brogan clan. She is one of the most kind and caring people I have ever met.Because of distance and time we have not been able to catch up for a long time -- too long -- and I wish I could be with you this week. From the bottom of our hearts though, we would like to express our sincere condolences as our thoughts and prayers are with you and Mrs. Brogan. With love and prayer,Dan & Bernadette Sullivan and Family

While I did not know Jean Brogan personally, I was a first hand witness in how the news of her death affected her nephew, James P.Furey, son of her sister, Alice and James Furey of Bethel Park, PA. Jim was moved beyond words about her death and very, very visibly shaken. I could tell that he loved her very, very much and that she was very dear to him. I wish that I had known her, because I know that she was much loved and admired by many. I am very sorry for your loss--she was very special indeed.

Gramma Jean holds a special place in our hearts. My daughter's own Gramma Jean died ten years ago when they were 2, 8 and 12. Ryan's Gramma Jean became Tracie, Colleen and Meagan's Gramma Jean with special cards at holidays as well as cards to me during and after my stay in the hospital. I remember her thinking our backyard turned into a park at Tracie's graduation party...she thought we had the most peaceful place and we pray that she is in that peaceful place where there is no pain and suffering and is watching over us with my Mom and Gramma Jean Rice. Let the memories get you through this! Love Karen

My thoughts and prayers for Jean's family as they process through this grief. I had worked with Jean at CIMH for 7 years in the Medical Records Dept. while Sue Bice was director. Jean was a beacon of light and a joy to work with and even more of a joy to know. I have often thought of Jean and her family through these years and am saddened to know that she is no longer with you, but oh the triumph that greeted her as she entered heaven and she saw the face of God for the very first time! How radiant and peacefilled she must be right now. And knowing what she now knows she is probably anxious for her family to once again be at her side. Again, my deepest sympathy, Karen Costello, St. Louis Missouri

I never knew Jean personally, but I knew her through her children Jean and Mary. My prayers are with you all. I have heard some wonderful stories about Jean, many filled with humor and her love for her family. This is the best legacy any of us can ever hope to leave behind, that which teaches us how to love one another. We will all meet her again.
