Obituary of David J. Hafler

David J. Hafler, age 55, of The Valley died Monday, August 23, 2004 at home. David was born July 30, 1949 in Johnson City, New York. He was a graduate of Syracuse Central Technical High School. He retired after 33 years with Syracuse University as a steam fitter and was a member of SEIU Local 200. He coached Valley Little League and Pop Warner Football. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl J. Hafler. David is survived by his wife of 24 years, Candyce Hafler; one daughter, Rebekah Hafler and one son, Jeffrey Hafler both of Syracuse, New York; his mother, Virginia (Grover) Hafler of Florida and one brother, John Hafler of California. Services: Thursday, August 26, 2004, 8:00 p.m. with David E. Pasinski officiating and Saturday, August 28, 2004, 10:00 a.m. with Father Danial J. O'Hara officiating. Both services at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., Syracuse, New York. Calling Hours: Thursday, August 26, 2004, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 4612 S. Salina Street.
