Obituary of Donald Bell Doug" Gotham

Donald Bell "Doug" Gotham, loving husband, devoted father and grandfather died Monday, May 31, 2004 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, New York. He will be sorely missed. Donald was born September 11, 1925 in Watertown, New York, the son of Clinton and Myrtle (Wheeler) Gotham. He was a graduate of Onondaga Valley Academy High School graduating in 1944. He was a self-employed contractor and a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II where he served as a Seabee in the Pacific Theater. Doug is survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Diane Beaver; three sons, Mark A. (Judy) Gotham of Manlius, New York, Stephen B. (Mary) Gotham of Syracuse, New York and Bruce D. (Heidi) Gotham of Marcellus, New York; two daughters, Tracey A. Gotham and Valerie J. (Chris) Dorfer both of Syracuse, New York; two brothers, Clinton Gotham of Honeoye, New York and Allen Gotham of Syracuse, New York; one sister, Doris Coon of Crystal River, Florida; eight grandchildren, Brian Gotham, David Dorfer, Hillary Gotham, Minnie Muzquiz, Kali Collins, Andrew Gotham, Dan Landi and Sara Gotham. Services: Saturday, June 5, 2004, 11:00 a.m. in Atonement Lutheran Church, 116 W. Glen Avenue, Syracuse, New York. Burial: Onondaga Valley Cemetery, 2500 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York. Calling Hours: Friday, June 4, 2004, 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York.
